IMUTESTTM - HOME ALLERGY TEST KIT
Imutest™ - the kits explained

Imutest™ Allergy Check
Is the first step in identifying whether your symptoms are caused by an allergy and if so, give some indication as to what the trigger is likely to be. The test detects minute quantities of the antibody Immunuglobulin E (IgE). High levels of this antibody in the blood are associated with an increased risk of allergy.

Imutest™ House Dust Mite
House dust mites are microscopic spider-like creatures living in nearly all homes feeding on the flakes of human skin. They normally live unnoticed, but in very large numbers, in warm moist places like your bedding, sofas, curtains, carpets and children's furry toys. Many people are allergic to the waste product of house dust mites.

Imutest™ Hay Fever
Hay Fever is one of the most common allergic reactions and complaints in the UK. In general it starts between the ages of 8 & 20 years old, with the symptoms becoming less severe as the person gets older, but unfortunately there is no age restriction on who can suffer. Men are generally more susceptible than women and surprisingly it is more common in the city than in the countryside. It is thought pollution may be an important contributor.

Imutest™ Cat
Up to 10% of the population may be allergic to pet animals to some degree - for those with asthma this rises to almost 30%. Up to 40% of children with asthma are allergic to cats. Cats are the most common cause of pet allergy. The cat allergen is present in the skin scales, saliva glands and tears of the cat but is distributed over the fur during grooming. The saliva dries on the cat hair and becomes airborne.

Imutest™ Milk/Egg
Food allergies are suffered by a million people in the UK and can be discomforting to anyone unfortunate enough to suffer from one of them. It is important that once you confirm that you have a food allergy you seek medical advice. You should not attempt to check your sensitivity by eating a food you suspect may be causing the problem. Similarly avoidance of common foods such as wheat, eggs or milk should only take place after consultation with a dietician or your doctor as unnecessary avoidance of these foods can lead to nutritional deficiencies.
